Central Air Conditioning
Installation
New Construction
These systems are more easily installed because of the fact that the home is wide open giving the opportunity to run ductwork and mechanicals as needed.
Existing Homes - Complete Systems
The most popular installation and the easiest to install is an add on system to a "ranch style home." In most cases 90% of the system is installed in the attic and can usually be installed with out any additional cosmetic repairs necessary. "Colonial style homes" can present a challange as to whether or not one system can be installed or if there is a need to install two systems, one for each level. This all depends on the floor plan layout and whether or not the home owner is willing to use or in some cases lose closet spaces as potential chase ways to route ductwork as necessary.
Ductless Split Systems
The term "Ductless Split" system can be mislead to sound like it would be less expensive than installing central air conditioning. In some cases trying to cool a whole house with a ductless split system could actually cost more than installing central air conditioning because of the fact that several of these units may need to be installed to achieve the same goal. Ductless systems do however have there place that is better suited for example:
- Large great rooms
- General open area of a home
- Additions
- Use for just one room of a home
Take a look at the photo above to get an idea of how the systems can be layed out in a home and the accessories to the left of the photo that come with the system. The pug units that are placed outside the home are very small and not intrusive. All of the units come with thermostats and remote controls to control each unit and refrigerant lines do need to be ran through the home. Call us today for more information!
