Air Quality

The quality of your indoor air can have a great effect on the health and well-being of your entire family. Here we present a few of the techniques being used today to improve the air quality in homes and office buildings in and around our community. Air Filtration

We spend 90% of our lives indoors. A cubic foot of indoor air can have as many as 30 million pollutant particals that trigger allergies, cause headaches, fatigue, lung irritation and contribute to the spread of infectious diseases.

Most everybody is familiar with the "Blue" filters (see below) available for less than a buck at most stores everywhere. If you hold up the "Blue" filter you can see right through it. That instantly tells you of its capabilities to capture airbourne particales.

Ironically, these filters get better at trapping particals as they load up because they are literly closing the gap for particals to get through. Unfortunatly by that time it will usually cause a service call because it Blocks the air flow to the furnace, which in turn causes your furnace to shut down on hi-temp or your a/c system to freeze. Electronic Air Cleaners

These whole house April Aire electronic air cleaner devices are seperatly powered and provide an excellent job of air filtration in your home. This device is designed to remove dust, pollen, bacteria and other contaminants from the air in your home.

The April Aire Electonic Air Cleaner is never less than 94% efficient at removing disease-causing bacteria as small as 0.35 micron. No other whole-house air cleaner can reach more than 70% efficiency.

However, they are only as good as the homeowner is willing to participate. These untis require the homeowner to clean them once a month with soap and water to provide the proper and best filtration that they are designed for.

We find these systems are often neglected which in turn provide poor filtration, mostly based on the fact that most homeowners don't realize the importance of upkeep. If you know what these filtration units require and are willing to do your part they will provide a supurb job of air filtration.

Ventilation Systems

If you could open a window year round in your home it would allow you to have continuous fresh air into your home. We all know this is not a reasonable thing to do because if the air conditioning or heat is on its just not practical.

Humidification

Humidity in a home is very important. In the summer time, humidity is removed with the use of an air conditioning system. In the winter time, humidity is added to the home via the use of a humidifier.

Humidifiers are made to either apply to the ductwork of a hot air heating system or you can choose one to be installed as a seperate independent unit for homes with baseboard heat.
